The Best Sushi in Orléans

Orléans has, over the past few years, grown into a respectable sushi and Japanese food destination, with options spanning master-chef sushi counters, robot-assisted all-you-can-eat halls, and family-run takeout spots turning out fish good enough to rival anything downtown. Picking the right one for the occasion isn't always obvious, though, so we've rounded up the top sushi spots across the suburb to save you the guesswork, from a special-occasion dinner to a low-key Friday-night order-in. N.B. This list is based primarily on a reader poll of Orléans Connect subscribers and our own experiences.

🏬 The Space - Tucked into a strip mall along St. Joseph Blvd, Nagi Sushi looks like just another neighbourhood spot from the outside, then surprises you the moment you step in. It's intimate, seating maybe 20 people at most, with warm wooden paneling, wooden chairs, and possibly the nicest chopsticks we've encountered at any restaurant in Orléans. The atmosphere is modern, serene, and spotlessly clean, and it's clearly a place that cares about the dining experience. That small footprint comes with a catch: lines regularly stretch out the door at lunch and dinner, so reservations are a smart move.

🍣 The Sushi - This is the highest-rated sushi in Orléans, and it earns every bit of it. Chef and owner Moriyuki Hiroha is a Japanese Taisho, a sushi master from Gunma Maebashi with over thirty years at Ottawa's C'est Japon à Suisha, and he's brought his supplier connections with him, meaning high-quality fish, some sourced directly from Japan. Everything we ordered arrived fabulously fresh, generously portioned, and at just the right temperature, each dish somehow better than the last. The Sashimi Salmon was astonishingly fresh, the Agedashi Tofu beautifully presented, and the Vegetable Gyoza may be the best we've ever had. But the standout is the Smoked Salmon Roll, which we can only describe as to die for. Pair all that with attentive, genuinely pleasant service and you have a spot that's raising the bar for dining in Orléans.

🏬 The Space - Sushi Poke Go is first and foremost a takeout and delivery operation in the commercial heart of Orléans, not a sit-down restaurant, so come knowing you'll grab a well-packed order and enjoy it at home. It's a family-run spot where everything is made in house, and that care comes through in the freshness of what lands in the box. Made-to-order sushi at these prices moves fast, so ordering ahead is the smart play. It's the kind of neighbourhood place that quietly works its way into your regular rotation.

🍣 The Sushi - The food here is excellent across the board. Everything arrives fresh and flavourful, the rice is well handled, and the fish quality genuinely stands out, exactly what you want from a sushi place. The menu covers all the essentials plus poke bowls and donburi, with specialty rolls like the Lion and Double Salmon alongside cooked and vegetarian options. The Rainbow Roll was the star of our order, with the Double Salmon Roll and Beef Gyoza close behind, and the specialty rolls held together beautifully even after travelling. Best of all, the pricing is a real strength; you can build a generous spread without the bill climbing the way it does at pricier competitors. If you're in the east end and want quality sushi for takeout or delivery without the premium price tag, this one belongs on your shortlist.

🏬 The Space - Sushi Kan is a sizeable all-you-can-eat establishment on Tenth Line with plenty of table and booth seating, and across many visits we've always found it clean, friendly, and busy. It's a modern, comfortable room, complete with a large digital screen of hypnotically calming psychedelic koi at the back. But the real talking point is the robots: Sushi Kan is one of the only spots in Orléans with robot delivery assistants. You order from an iPad at your table, and when the food is ready a robot rolls up alongside your booth and cheerfully invites you to grab your plates. The kids love it, and so do the grown-ups. Some dishes still arrive courtesy of real-life humans, but the novelty makes it a genuinely fun family outing.

🍣 The Sushi - The menu is plentiful, running the full range of soups, salads, appetizers, rolls, sushi, sashimi, noodles, and rice, essentially the standard Japanese and Asian-fusion spread you'd expect from an all-you-can-eat place. For the format, the quality is reliably good to great, with the vast majority of what we've tried over the years landing in that range. The Volcano Roll was a perfect ten, the Miso Soup, Sweet Potato Tempura, Tamago, and Inari sushi all excellent, and the mango pudding a tiny, delightful way to finish. It's great for kids (assuming you've convinced them they like sushi), welcoming, and endlessly satisfying when the all-you-can-eat belly trumpet calls.
