Sushi Poke Go had been on our list for a while, and a birthday celebration with friends over finally gave the Orléans Connect household the excuse to put in a proper order. As a mostly takeout-and-delivery spot in the heart of Orléans, it's not somewhere you go to linger over a meal, but after working our way through nearly every sushi place in the area, we were curious whether this family-run operation could hold its own against the competition.

THE LOCATION

Squeezed into 2138 St Joseph Blvd in the commercial heart of Orléans (though Innes Rd might have something to say about that), Sushi Poke Go is first and foremost a takeout and delivery operation rather than a sit-down restaurant. This is a family-run spot, and everything is made in house, which comes through in the care and freshness of what lands in the box.

Don't come expecting a full dining room and table service, come knowing you'll grab a well-packed order and enjoy it at home. Ordering ahead is smart, since fresh, made-to-order sushi at these prices moves fast. It's the kind of neighbourhood place that quietly becomes a regular rotation.

THE MENU

The menu covers the sushi essentials plus poke bowls and donburi, with a solid spread of maki rolls, nigiri, and hot appetizers. There's enough variety to build a shared spread for a group without repeating yourself: classic rolls sit alongside specialty options like the Lion roll and Double Salmon roll, and there are cooked and vegetarian picks for anyone who isn't in a raw-fish mood. Pricing is a genuine strength here; you can put together a generous order without the bill climbing the way it does at pricier competitors.

THE FOOD

We ordered a big shared spread for a birthday celebration with friends we had over, and the food was excellent across the board. Everything arrived fresh and flavourful-tasting, the rice was well handled, and the fish quality stood out, which is exactly what you want from a sushi place. Easily one of the best sushi spots we've tried in Orléans, and at this point we've worked our way through almost all of them.

  • 🍱 California Roll – ⭐️ 4.7 / 5

  • 🍣 Inari Nigiri – ⭐️ 4.5 / 5

  • 🍱 Dynamite Roll – ⭐️ 4.7 / 5

  • 🍱 Lion Roll – ⭐️ 4.6 / 5

  • 🍱 Rainbow Roll – ⭐️ 4.9 / 5

  • 🍱 Double Salmon Roll – ⭐️ 4.8 / 5

  • 🥟 Beef Gyoza – ⭐️ 4.8 / 5

The specialty rolls held together well and travelled nicely, and the Beef Gyoza rounded out the meal as a warm, satisfying contrast to all the rolls. We ordered a lot of food for four adults and three kids, and there were almost no leftovers.

THE ORLÉANS CONNECT OVERALL RATING

⭐️ 4.8 stars out of 5

Sushi Poke Go earns its place at or near the top of the Orléans sushi scene. It's fresh, well-priced (more affordable than many of its competitors), made in house, and reliable enough to trust for a group occasion… which is exactly how we used it, and it delivered. If you're in the east end and want quality sushi for takeout or delivery without the premium price tag, this one belongs on your shortlist.
