🏃🏾♀️ Sept 17th - Join the Orléans Women’s Run Club at Manor Park Brewing at 6:30 PM for a warm-up. 5 KM run, all paces welcome. Post run, enjoy the café.

✨ Sept 18th - Sign up for a Free Open House at Studio Eleven, featuring two FREE team-taught classes (Class 1 at 4:30 PM and Class 2 at 5:45 PM - Register Here!) Open House will also feature the launch of two brand-new class formats, plus surprises throughout the night! Studio Eleven is a boutique infrared fitness studio. They offer mat Pilates, barre, strength, and cardio classes.

Sept 19th - The Cumberland Farmers’ Market has their Annual Harvest Market on from 9 AM - 3 PM. Outdoor market with up to 130 vendors.

🛍️ Sept 19th - The Orléans Legion is hosting their Artisan Fall Market - featuring handmade goods and local makers, from 9 AM - 3 PM.

🌿 Sept 19th - Plantopia - Fall Edition! A local Ottawa fall backyard botanical party from 9 AM - 3 PM for the Slay Society. There will be herbs, veggies, fall annuals, indoor house plants, fall and spring bulbs, DIY fall bouquets and planters! All proceeds support families battling a Glioblastoma or DIPG diagnosis. Since they started, this beautiful local Orléans charity has raised over $400,000! 🎥 Learn more about this event from the founder, Laura. Never doubt the impact you can make!

🎃 Sept 19th - Oct 31st - PumpkinFest 2026 opens this Saturday! Proulx Farm is transformed into a giant Halloween playground! Bring a picnic and head to the farm. There will be outdoor activities, wagon rides, petting zoo, corn maze, play structures, tree houses, slides and so much more! Pick your own pumpkin(s) and get some gorgeous fall photos. Open Saturdays and Sundays (& Thanksgiving Monday) from 10 AM - 5 PM.

☀️ Sept 19th - Chateauneuf Community Association is holding Family Fun Day, from 12 - 3 PM at Barrington Park. Bouncy castles, performers, snacks, face painting, balloon twisting, crafts, the list goes on!

🛠️ Sept 19th - Have some items that need repairs? The Convent Glen Orléans Wood Community Association’s Environment Committee is hosting a Repair Cafe, from 2-5 PM at Orléans United Church.

🎥 Sept 19th - Community BBQ and Movie in the Park hosted by Queenswood Heights Community Association and Soap Ladz. The movie will be Spider-Man - with a special visit from Spider-Man himself! There will be face painting, halal burgers and hot dogs, cotton candy and popcorn. Starts at 6:30 PM.

🥕 It’s the 7th Annual Carrot Fest, a hands-on celebration of local food, farming and community. Head to Ottawa Farm Fresh on Sat, Sept 26th from 10 AM - 2 PM.
🍁 Broadhead Brewery is hosting a Fall Makers Market on Sun, Sept 27th from 11 AM - 4 PM, featuring 30+ local vendors, live tunes from Rusty Breezes and the best vibes in Orléans.
The Chatelaine Village Community Association has organized a Q & A with Ward 1 Candidates on Oct 14th at Roy Hobbs Community Centre (more details coming soon). To prepare, a short survey has been created, which residents in Ward 1 are invited to fill in with questions you’d like the Orléans-East-Cumberland City Councillor candidates to address. Submit questions by Sept 30th here in this survey.

🗳️ The Municipal Election is coming up on October 26th. Get prepared to vote - learn more about the local candidates running in the local Wards (Ward 1, Ward 2 and Ward 19). The CBC has a hub for local election news.
👀 On Sept 8th, candidates for City Councillor for Wards 1 and 2 participated in debates on Rogers TV. 🎥 Watch the recordings: Ward 1 debate recording and Ward 2 debate recording and now the Ward 19 debate recording for Orléans South-Navan is also available.
🚊 OC Transpo says it expects the east extension of Line 1 from Blair to Trim station to begin pre-trial running in early October.
🚘 CTV News did a commute stress test from Orléans to downtown Ottawa, and the results were… interesting.
👮 Police have arrested a 19-year-old woman in connection with bank robberies in Orléans.
🌉 Fred Sherwin over at the Orléans Star weighs in on the plans to build a new interprovincial bridge at Aviation Parkway.
