🏃 The Annual Orléans Terry Fox Run is on Sun, Sept 20th, at 8 AM at Cairine Wilson Secondary School.
🥕 It’s the 7th Annual Carrot Fest, a hands-on celebration of local food, farming and community. Head to Ottawa Farm Fresh on Sat, Sept 26th from 10 AM - 2 PM.

🗳️ The Municipal Election is coming up on October 26th. Hopefully, you’ve received your notification letter with details about voting dates and locations near you. If you have not received it, you can add or amend your information on the Voters’ List, by September 20th. Get prepared to vote - learn more about the local candidates running in the local Wards (Ward 1, Ward 2 and Ward 19). The CBC has a hub for local election news.
👀 On Sept 8th, candidates for City Councillor for Wards 1 and 2 participated in debates on Rogers TV. 🎥 Watch the recordings: Ward 1 debate recording and Ward 2 debate recording.
⚾️🍺 The Ottawa Business Journal spotlights local breweries and sports clubs creating new partnerships, including Orléans mainstay Stray Dog Brewing.

📉 Dan Stankovic, a local Urban economist argues that the city’s 2024 Economic Development Strategy and Action Plan is failing Orléans.

🚨 Ottawa Police are reporting that a man has died after his car struck a home on Duvernay Drive in Orléans. According to paramedics, the man was found suffering from cardiac arrest and was transported to hospital for treatment and later pronounced dead.

This week’s Orléans business spotlight is… 🥁 … Sushi Poke Go, located at 2138 St. Joseph Blvd.
Sushi Poke Go is a mostly takeout and delivery spot with a focus on asian cuisine. The menu features sushi essentials, poke bowls, and donburi, with a nice spread of maki rolls, nigiri, and hot appetizers. We’ve practically tried every Sushi spot in Orléans, and Sushi Poke Go is truly one of the best. Check out our full food spot review here.
