Well, if it wasn’t enough that we had a minor 3.9 earthquake 🫨 the other day, now The Weather Network is predicting a cooler and wetter summer than normal in Eastern Canada, which, inconveniently, is where Orléans is. The weather gods are not smiling upon us, are they? Even the coyotes are freakin’ out!

🌎 Cleaning the Capital - Community Clean Up Event on Sat, April 25th at Golden Fries, from 9 AM - 12 PM. Everyone is welcome, supplies will be provided.
💚 Cleaning the Capital at Chapel Hill Park on Sun, April 26th at 10:30 AM. Kids encouraged. Pick up gloves and bags. No time commitment. Volunteer hours recognized. Light refreshments will be served.

PROBUS is a volunteer-based organization, non-profit, non-political, non-secterian and will be opening a club in Orléans! Join for an Informational Meeting on Tues, April 28th at 10 AM at the Grace Presbyterian Church to learn more.

🧠 Orléans Lions Club is hosting Trivia Night on Sat, May 2nd - doors open at 5 PM (party food and silent auction), and the trivia starts at 7 PM. $20/person. Proceeds support the Orléans-Cumberland Community Resource Centre.
🪴 The Gloucester Horticulture Society is hosting their annual Plant Sale on Sat, May 9th from 9 AM - 12 PM at the Orléans Fruit Farm. Rain or shine!
💛 Slay Society presents Plantopia, a botanical block party on Mother’s Day, Sun, May 10th from 10 AM - 3 PM at Broadhead Brewery. All proceeds support families battling a glioblastoma or DIPG diagnosis.

⛔ Recent coyote activity in the Lalande Conservation Area and surrounding pathways. Residents advised to avoid walking through the area due to a probable coyote birth den. (Catherine Kitts, City Councillor, Facebook)
🚧 Temporary Road closure: Eastbound St Joseph Blvd (Jeanne d’Arc Blvd to Marenger St - April 17th to 20th. (City of Ottawa).

This week’s Orléans business spotlight is… 🥁 … Moose McGuire’s Pub & Grill located at 4025 Innes Rd📍(with two other locations in the Ottawa area)
Moose McGuire’s is a local tap house and sports pub that features one of the most unique ambiances and decors found anywhere in Orléans. Open till 1:00 am Sundays through to Tuesdays, and until 2:00 am the rest of the week, Moose McGuire’s is one of Orléans late night spots to grab some tasty pub fare and drinks late into the night. With a menu full of delightful pub fare and frequent live music and other events, Moose McGuire’s is an Orléans gem!

The gym at The Ray Friel Recreation Complex spans over 20,000 square feet, putting it closer in size to a full commercial fitness club than a typical city recreation gym.


Many thanks to Bridget D. for submitting Shadow, the Queen of Darkness, Mistress of Mysteries, and current owner of one burnt brain cell, is a 10-year old girl who loves cuddles and shouting at the top of her lungs at 3 am. She’s lived in Orléans all her little life and loves it!
