Orléans Food Spot Review - The Bad Alibi

It's going to be hard to find a better burger in Orléans.

Over the last few weeks I’ve been asking people online about what they think is the best burger in Orléans, and nearly everyone has mentioned the ones at The Bad Alibi being some of the best in town. So… I decided to see for myself what all the fuss was about.

The Bad Alibi is a well-known but somewhat out of the way spot located at 5935 Jeanne D Arc. Personally, I’d never been to The Bad Alibi before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Nevertheless, this place is a at its heart, and first and foremost a classic pub. That’s reflected in the fact that it’s open till 1:00am every day… an amazing feat for an Orléans restaurant!

THE SPACE

Overall the space is relatively warm and inviting, but a closer look definitely tells there are a few areas that could use a little bit of TLC like the seating which definitely shows a bit of wear and tear. But since it’s really more of a pub than anything fancy, my expectations for decor are a bit muted.

Some parts of the decor have definitely been updated and look almost new, while others… not so much.

THE MENU

The Bad Alibi’s menu is almost entirely classic pub food, though there are also some nice surprises to be found.

Appetizers include:

  • Tater skins

  • Brushetta

  • Cheese Sticks

  • Nachos

  • Spinch Dip

  • Perogies

  • Chicken Wings and more…

Entrées include:

  • BBQ Chicken

  • Spaghetti

  • Steak

  • Chicken salad

  • Fish & Chips

  • Chicken Linguini

  • Seafood Linguini

  • Chicken & Bacon Carbonara and more..

  • 10 different Burgers

  • 10 different Sandwiches

WHAT I HAD

As I mentioned at the top of this review, my goal is to find the best burger in all of Orléans, and so I decided to try “The Lansky” burger which is $22 and includes an 8oz Ontario Ground Chuck along with melted Swiss cheese, house mayo, bacon, mushrooms, lettuce, and tomato… all served on a potato scallion bun with fries.

As far as the toppings go, it’s like this burger was specially designed for me. It features the EXACT toppings I always want, but their mere combination doesn’t always guarantee a fantastic tasting burger.

Fortunately, this burger was, and I don’t use this superlative often, nothing short of incredible! The meat was cooked to perfection, and every topping was fresh, and in the right proportion. The fries were excellent too! There’s no question that this burger deserves to sit in the top spot of all burgers I’ve tried in Orléans so far. So if you’re a burger aficionado and still haven’t been to The Alibi, I highly recommend it.

I shall continue my quest in finding the best burgers in Orléans, but all those other chefs out there are going have a hard time beating this one.
