Orléans Food Spot Review - LunchBox
Take-out sandwiches that hit the spot.

LunchBox is a small but seemingly thriving take-out sandwich shop. They bill themselves as “Ottawa’s Best Gourmet Sandwiches”. As they recently made a move to their new location on Jeanne D’Arc Blvd., I wanted to put that claim to the test.
THE SPACE
While the new location is still pretty raw, (as you can see they still have the temporary sign up), it’s obviously designed to be pretty bare bones but with a fun twist on the “lunchbox” motif with cute ornamental metal lunchboxes adorning the walls.

The space is a decent size, though they could use some more seating considering how many people line up waiting during the lunch-hour rush. This place definitely thrives off that that meal-time, though they are open as early as 10:30 am and stay open past the dinner rush till 7:00 pm.

The LunchBox is a sandwich place first… boasting:
12 different gourmet sandwiches (with optional add-ons and sauces/dips on the side)
1 wrap
House-seasoned potato chips
6 different salads
Noodles
Another unique food item is their signature cookie dough available in four different flavours, though I didn’t get to try that unfortunately.

WHAT WE HAD
This time around, here’s what we each had and how we felt about each:
The ABC (Sandwich) - 4.2 ⭐️’s out of 5
The Sandbox (Sandwich) - 4.3 ⭐️’s out of 5
House-Seasoned Potato Chips - 3.9 ⭐️’s out of 5

The sandwiches were very delicious, without a doubt well worth the price. All the ingredients were fresh, in great proportion and really did hit the spot. My only regret is that I didn’t try one of their sauces and dips on the side. The potato chips I enjoyed, though my wife found them a bit too zesty for her taste.

Great selection, tasty sandwiches, fast service. What else could you want from a take-out sandwich shop?
