In my attempt to discover the best breakfast and brunch spots in Orléans, I recently made my way to Eggspress, located at 1675 Tenth Line Rd. When I pulled up on a quiet Tuesday morning, I'll admit my expectations were tempered. A 12-location franchise (with most locations in Quebec) dedicated exclusively to breakfast and lunch? I’m always a bit skeptical about the quality of food at a franchise restaurant. But, my assumptions, I’m happy to report, were wildly off base. Eggspress didn’t just meet my bar, it cleared it by a comfortable margin.
THE LOCATION
Walking in, the first thing you notice is how thoughtfully the space is put together. The decor is warm without being fussy, wood tones, clean lines, and a modern layout that feels inviting and intentional, at least from a visual aesthetic standpoint. There's a good mix of seating options: individual tables for solo diners or intimate pairs, booths for those who want to settle in, and enough square footage that you’ll probably never feel crowded. On the Tuesday I visited, the restaurant was lightly busy, which felt just right, enough buzz to give the place energy, but not so chaotic that service suffers.

THE MENU
The menu is expansive. This is a breakfast-and-lunch-only spot, so you might expect a tight, focused offering, but Eggspress goes wide. There's something for every kind of morning or lunch appetite, from lighter fare to the kind of indulgent, loaded plates that justify skipping dinner. It takes a few minutes to really dig through the options, which is a good problem to have. Just a sampling of what’s on offer:
Eggs Benedict (many kinds)
Omelettes (many kinds)
Breakfast platters (various)
Avocado toast
Smoothies
Juices
Milkshakes
Wine, cocktails and beer
Pancakes
Waffles
French Toast
Crepes
Wraps
Sandwiches
Grilled Cheeses
and more!

THE FOOD
I went with the Meat Lovers Omelette, and it did not disappoint. It was hearty, well-seasoned, and cooked with care, it’s the kind of omelette you want when you mean business. In particular, I was a bit shocked with how amazing the potatoes were, easily the best I’ve had in Orléans. On a whim, I added a side of pancakes, and I'm glad I did.
These weren't your average diner pancakes. They arrived enormous, stacked thick, and super-fluffy in a way that's hard to pull off at scale. Both dishes were seriously delicious, and, perhaps most impressively, they came out real fast. Not "we forgot about you and are now compensating" fast, but proper quick service that suggested a well-run kitchen.

THE SERVICE
Here's where Eggspress really stood out. In all the Orléans food spots I've reviewed, this ranks among my best service experiences, full stop. The staff were attentive, warm, and efficient without being overbearing. You got the sense that they enjoy working there, which makes a bigger difference than people realize.

THE ORLÉANS CONNECT OVERALL RATING
⭐️ 4.8 stars out of 5
Eggspress is the kind of place that makes you reconsider your assumptions about franchise dining. Yes, it's a chain. Yes, there are 12 locations. But the Orléans outpost felt personal, polished, and surprisingly excellent across the board. The space, the food, the speed, and especially the service. If you're looking for a go-to breakfast or brunch spot in the area, this deserves a spot at the top of your list.
