Orléans Food Spot Review - Broadhead Brewery

Beer, but a lot more than beer, and it's surprisingly good.

Look, I’ll be honest, I’m not much of a beer drinker. Never have been. I guess I just never developed a taste for it. That said, I’ve had beers that I’ve liked more than others. But before we begin this review, know that my expertise does not lie in beer tasting, so I’ll be more focusing on the food side of things this time around.

THE SPACE

Broadhead Brewery and taproom are all in one place. As you can see from the photos, there is a literal glass divider between the brewery floor and all its wonderful looking machinery and the taproom which has its own open and distinct feel. Because the taproom and brewery are all under one roof, this results in really high ceilings which creates a nice ambiance. There’s plenty of seating for diners, a decent sized bar, and even a small lounge area with a couch and some loveseats.

Overall, I really like the decor. They’ve done a nice job to mix the more industrial look with some unique floating panels to not make the place feel too cavernous. Additionally, there’s a small area for merchandise, and overall the place is very inviting.

And of-course for the summer months, there’s a nice outdoor patio seating area if you prefer outdoor dining.

THE MENU

In addition to eight classics that I assume are in stock all of the time, Broadhead also offers limited run releases from crispy lagers to bold IPA’s.

As for the food, here’s what you can expect:

SANDWICHES

  • Brisket

  • Pulled Pork

  • Jackfruit

  • Chicken bacon ranch

WRAPS

  • Chicken caesar wrap

  • Buffalo chicken wrap

  • Pulled Pork Mac N Cheese Burrito

SALADS

  • Chicken caesar salad

  • Smoké bowl

FROM THE SMOKER

  • Beef Brisket

  • Pork Ribs

  • Pulled Pork

  • Smoked Wings

A variety of snacks and sides as well as a selection of fan favourites:

  • Tacos

  • Meaty mac

  • Beer cheese dip

  • Nachos

  • Tater tot poutine

  • Loaded tots

  • Pulled pork flatbread

And if you’re wondering, there’s no kids menu here.

WHAT I HAD

  • Beer: Blueberry Blonde

  • Small Mac and cheese

  • Nachos

As I said at the start of this review, I’m in no position to judge beer quality or tastiness. So I will forgo that in favour of leaving ratings for the food I had. Overall, the food was much better than I expected. In particular the nachos came on a large wooden cutting board and the portion was more than generous.

🧀 Mac and cheese - 8.2 / 10

🍽️ Nachos - 9 / 10
