  • 🎡 Oct 1st - 4th - The 170th Metcalfe Fair is on! Features livestock shows, a demolition derby, 4-H competitions, homecraft exhibits, pony rides, petting zoo, family-friendly entertainment, a midway, educational displays, and so much more! This event started in 1856 and is one of the premier agricultural exhibitions in Ontario! Schedule of events.

  • Weekend events at the Orléans Legion📍800 Taylor Creek Dr:

    • 🎤 Oct 2nd - Grab the mic and head to Karaoke Night! Whether you’re a superstar or spectacularly off-key, Karaoke Night is about great songs, big laughs and a whole lot of fun. On from 7-11 PM.

    • 🍰 Oct 2nd & 3rd - Hungarian Bake Sale (available during lunch and dinner on Friday, and from 8 AM - 1 PM on Saturday). Come enjoy a delicious selection of Hungarian baked goods.

    • 🎶 Oct 3rd - Elvis is in the House! Doors open at 5:30 PM. [Event is sold out, so hopefully you already have tickets!]

  • 🥞 Oct 3rd - Station 71 is hosting a Pancake Breakfast from 8-11 AM. Breakfast is by donation to CHEO. Face painting, games, meet Sparky and the Station 71 Firefighters! Enjoy local, pure maple syrup from Erabliere des Wats Sugar Bush, local coffee by Pap Bean Coffee Roastery, plus sausages and bacon from Laverne Meat & Deli.

  • ✨ Oct 3rd - 4th - It’s Hidden Treasures Giveaway Weekend in Ottawa! Put your unwanted treasures at your curb for local treasure hunters. Note - this also means keep items you are NOT gifting away from the curb!

  • 🚑 Oct 3rd - It’s the 2nd Annual Orléans/Navan Touch-a-Truck Event at the Robert Plante Greenhouses! This free family event features 20+ trucks, tractors, emergency vehicles and BIG machines for kids to see up close, explore, climb around and take photos! Event on from 9 AM - 2 PM - Sensory-friendly hour from 9-10 AM.

  • 🍂 Oct 3rd - Navan Fall Fest from 11 AM - 3 PM - at the Navan Fairgrounds. Something for everyone - games, races, contests, pumpkin decorating, treasure hunt, ball hockey, line dancing, kids’ crafts, BBQ, face & nail art, a firefighter show, silent auction, bake sale, pie auction and so much more!

  • 💗 Oct 3rd - The Kin Club of Orléans’ Feed the Need Food Drive! Kin members and volunteers will be collecting food and donations for the Orléans-Cumberland Community Resource Centre, and new and gently used craft supplies for Sonshine Families.   • 🚲 Oct 3rd - Take part in Neuro Ride Ottawa! This is a purpose-driven cycling event to raise awareness and support therapies for individuals from eastern Ottawa and surrounding areas with acquired brain injury and post-concussive syndrome. From 9:30 AM - 2 PM, starting and ending at the Hammond Golf & Country Club. Register here.

  • 🎃 Sept 19th - Oct 31st - PumpkinFest 2026 is on. Proulx Farm is transformed into a giant Halloween playground! Outdoor activities, wagon rides, petting zoo, corn maze, play structures, tree houses, slides and so much more! Pick your own pumpkin(s) and get some gorgeous fall photos. Open Saturdays and Sundays (& Thanksgiving Monday) from 10 AM - 5 PM.

  • 👻 Oct 1st - 31st - The Albert Halloween House for CHEO is on daily, from 6:30-9 PM. Great for young children! Jump scares happen only on Saturdays. Donate online to support the fundraiser for CHEO.

  • 🧟‍♀️ October 2nd - 31st - sKreamers is back! This volunteer-run Halloween attraction is hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Eastern Ottawa, at Proulx Farm. Open Friday and Saturdays, from 7-9 PM (last wagon leaves at 9:15 PM, doors close at 10 PM). Featuring 2 haunted houses, a scary wagon ride, live actors, and plenty of Halloween thrills, sKreamers brings the community together for a fun and spooky night out.   • 🗣️ The Chatelaine Village Community Association and Queenswood Heights Community Association are hosting an In-Person Q & A with Ward 1 (Orléans-East - Cumberland) Candidates on Wed, Oct 14th at 7 PM, at Roy Hobbs Community Centre. Ward 1 residents are invited to submit questions you’d like the Orléans-East-Cumberland City Councillor candidates to address. Submit questions by Sept 30th here in this survey.

  • 🎥 Queenswood Heights Community Association is hosting the next Community Movie Night on Sat, Oct 17th, at Bob Monette Community Centre from 6:30-10 PM at Bob Monette Community Centre.

Their volunteer Association has supported activities in Ouelette Park for the Tamarack, Minto and Ironclad communities for over 14 years, including operation of the community skating rink.⛸️ A longtime volunteer Dan has moved away, and they lost both their Treasurer/Bookeeper and Rink Manager. They are urgently seeking volunteers to help ensure the rink can continue operating this winter. Their upcoming AGM will be announced soon. There are also opportunities to join the executive.
