Hello ORLÉANS!

Welcome to the 35th edition of Orléans Connect.

So… how was everyone’s Halloween? We definitely saw a smaller turnout this year than most, but that’s what happens when you’re dealing with a torrent of 🌧️ and 💨. Nevertheless, it was amazing to see everyone’s costumes and we’re happy to have given a ton of books away to the kids - we loved seeing how excited and happy kids were to receive them!

Don’t forget to check out this week’s poll ❓ at the bottom of the newsletter. This week we’re asking: how do you feel about the Province of Ontario banning 🚗 speed cameras 📸 which are now slated to be turned off in Ottawa on November 14th?

📰 News you should know about…

Per City Councilor Matt Lulloff, there have been 120 incidents reported since the spring in locations including, but not limited to, Innes/Frank Kenny, and the post office on Dunning. BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT 🔦

This week’s Orléans business spotlight is… 🥁THE DOUGH BROS located at 250 Centrum Blvd.

The Dough Bros is easily one of the best, if not the best Pizza place in Orléans. We’ve gotten takeout from them countless times and if you haven’t discovered them, you’re missing out on some astonishingly good pizza. 🍕

As always, if you wind up eating or ordering from there, make sure to tell them that Orléans Connect sent you.

The shopping mall Place d’Orléans has about 130-132 stores, 3 anchor stores, and roughly 734,000-740,000 sq ft of floor area. How does that compare to the largest mall in the world located in Iran? It’s less than 1/20th the size of The Iran Mall which boasts a total of 21 MILLION sq ft and a whopping 2,500+ stores. 🤯

How unbelieveably cute is this? Many thanks to Nancy R. for sending in a photo of Wally, a Syrian hamster, also known as a Golden Hamster. Fun fact: Syrian hamsters are highly territorial and intolerant of other hamsters. Solitary creatures they are.
