• ✨ October 3rd - Head out for this Swiftie-themed, dog-friendly market - The Life of a Maker Market, featuring over 40 local vendors! Event is on from 4 PM - 9 PM.

  📍 Ray Friel Recreation Complex.

• 🎤 October 3rd - It’s Karaoke Night at the Legion! Grab the mic, hit the dance floor and let your inner superstar shine! Whether you’re here to sing your heart out or just dance the night away, it’s all about good vibes, great music and a fun night with friends! The fun gets started at 7 PM.

  📍Orléans Legion, 800 Taylor Creek

• 🎶 October 3rd - “Life as a Showgirl” Album Release and Listening Party from 8 PM onwards. Custom cocktails, friendship bracelets and so much more! All ages. Dress to impress. Chance to win an album. 🎟️ Admission $5.

• 🌳 October 4th - Join City Councillor Laura Dudas for Tree Planting at 9 AM on Saturday morning. If you are interested in volunteering, email Laura directly at [email protected].

• 🥞 October 4th - Meet the Station 71 Firefighters and enjoy a tasty breakfast of pancakes, sausages and bacon. The Pancake Breakfast is from 8 AM - 11 AM. Breakfast is by donation - all funds raised go to the CHEO Foundation. There will be face painting, kids games, meet Sparky and more!

  📍Navan Fairgrounds, 1279 Colonial Road

• 🎃 October 4th - Navan Fall Fest is on from 11 AM - 3 PM. This free event features a pumpkin decorating contest, scarecrow making, line dancing, crafts, silent auction, BBQ, photo booth, firefight show, tug-of-war, pie auction and so much more!

  📍Navan Fairgrounds, 1279 Colonial Road

• 🐈 October 4th - Community Alley Trappers invites you to their Cat BBQ Fundraiser and Bottle Drive from 11 AM - 2 PM. There will be hot dogs and drinks available. All proceeds from the BBQ and bottle drive go towards the care of their rescued kitties, TNR program and more!

• 🌻 October 5th - The Heart of Orléans Market features over 120 local vendors - showcasing the best of the best: baked goods, breads, cheeses, fresh produce, jewelers, soap makers, wood workers and so much more! On from 9:30 AM - 2 PM.

  📍290 Centrum Blvd on the gravel pad & courtyard

• ✂️ October 5th - Kūlt the Salon’s 5 Year Anniversary Block Party is on from 12 PM - 4 PM. Bring your family, friends and all the good vibes! Enjoy some delicious food and dessert for local Orléans vendors include Juice Dudez, La Ha Tacos and The Carcuterie Society. Live music from DJ Matto. Take some photos in the photogbooth and bring your kids for some face painting.

• 🃏 October 7th - Join a great group of people playing euchre for the Brewchre Tournament. Pizza served at 6 PM and cards dealt at 6:30 PM. Send an email to [email protected] to get on the list. Once you receive a confirmation email, send an etransfer of $25, which gets you in and includes a beverage, two slices of delicious local pizza and a chance at some great prizes!

Get those calendars out - plenty of events coming up:

• 🎃 Proulx Farm’s Annual Pumpkin Fest is on! It started Sept 20th and goes until Oct 26th on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 AM - 5 PM. The farm is transformed into a giant Halloween playground! Bring a picnic and come join for a ghostly gathering!

• 🧠 It’s Trivia Night at the Legion on Thur, Oct 9th, start time at 6 PM. 🎟️ Tickets $20 per person, or a table of 4 for $60. Register with Melanie at [email protected].

• 🎨 Fall Paint Night at Café Latte Cino on Sat, Oct 11th from 7 PM to 9 PM. 🎟️ Tickets $65/person - includes all art supplies, a drink and dessert, 2-hr guided paint session and a masterpiece for you to take home. Register by email: [email protected].

• 🍂 Robert Plante Greenhouses is hosting their 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Market on Oct 11th and 12th from 9 AM - 4 PM. This event features over 160 local vendors!

• 💃🕺 Looking for a fun night out for ADULTS only right here in Orléans? Join for Saved By the Bell 2 - the Ultimate Throwback Dance Party at St Peter High School on Fri, Oct 17th. Must be 19+ to attend.

• 🍻 OktoberFest is on at the Orléans Legion on October 17th. Come raise your beer stein and enjoy live music by Cara Q. No advanced tickets or reservations required. First come, first served event.

• 🖼️ Paint Night is on Thur, Oct 23rd at 6 PM, at the Orléans Legion, in partnership with It Takes a Village Dog Rescue. Register with Melanie at [email protected]. 🎟️ $40 per person, includes all materials.

🎃👻  LOOKING FOR SOME SPOOKY EXPERIENCES THIS OCTOBER? 👻🎃

Orléans has multiple options to get your scare on, while you help support excellent community causes!

😱 sKreamers at Proulx Farm 😱

sKreamers, presented by the Kiwanis Club of Eastern Ontario is Ottawa’s premier haunted attraction. Visitors can brace themselves for bone-chilling thrills with two terrifying haunted houses, a dark wagon ride, and maze filled with live actors creating scares at every turn. With over 150 volunteers helping bring the experience to life, sKreamers is as much a community effort as it is a thrilling adventure.

All proceeds from sKreamers go directly to supporting youth programs and community projects in the Orléans area, making every scream count toward a good cause. sKreamers is a must-visit for thrill-seekers and anyone looking to enjoy a frightfully fun night out!

• For Ages 10+

• 🏚️ Where: Proulx Farm, 1865 O’Toole Rd.

• 🎟️ Entry: $25/person. Tickets sold online and in-person (no ATM).

• 🗓️ OPEN on Fridays and Saturdays in October

• 🕕 Gates and box office open at 7 PM. Box office closes at 9 PM. Last wagon leaves at 9:15 PM. Doors close at 10 PM. Arrive early to avoid disappointment.

👻 The Albert Halloween House 👻

Did you know that Orléans is home to one of the coolest Haunted Houses around? The Albert Halloween House opened on October 1st! This amazing local family has again turned their yard into a thrilling haunted walkthrough to raise money for CHEO! Bring your family and friends for a night of thrills and chills, all for a great cause! Last year they raised over $15,000 for CHEO!

• 🏚️ Where: 268 Pintail Terrace, Orleans ON

• 🎟️ Entry: FREE, donations welcome – all proceeds go directly to CHEO!

• 🕕 Wednesdays to Sundays - 6 PM - 9 PM.

• 🗓️ CLOSED on Mondays and Tuesdays.

• 😱 Live jump scares will only be on the last weekend.

BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT 🔦

This week’s Orléans business spotlight is… 🥁 … NUVO EYE CENTRE located at 170 Vanguard Drive. Nuvo is a full-service optometry clinic and eyewear retailer that carries all your favourite eyewear brands and offers eye exams, and a wide-range of other vision related services.

As our entire family is bespectacled, we’ve gone to Nuvo for all of our eye care needs for years, and we’ve had nothing but a great experience each time.
