Edition no.28

Hello ORLÉANS!
Welcome to the 28th edition of Orléans Connect.
1,000 SUBSCRIBERS! 🥳
Now that we’ve passed 1,000 subscribers, or more correctly put, one thousand people in the Orléans community reading this newsletter every week, we just wanted to extend a big heartfelt thank you 🙏 to everyone that has been a part of helping this newsletter grow organically. Let’s get to 2,000!
GIVE US YOUR PETS 🐶🐱
Ok, not actually, but we’d love to get more Pets of Orléans submissions as we’re starting to run a bit low in our backlog of submitted pets. Send your pet photos along with the pet name here. We love getting to know the Pets of Orléans!
🍳 This week, we want to know what your favourite place for breakfast or brunch in Orléans is? Scroll down to the bottom of the newsletter to give us your answer in this week’s poll.
Also make sure to check out this week’s 🍎 Food Spot Review, while not really a place you can go eat… it’s a place where things you eat are grown! 🍏

BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT 🔦
This week’s Orléans business spotlight is… 🥁 … ORLÉANS FRUIT FARM located at 1399 St Joesph Blvd - a local favourite that offers a wide variety of fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables.
Orléans Fruit Farm has been operating for over 50 years and depending on the season, you can enjoy a pick-your-own experience with strawberries and raspberries in the summer, and apples in September, which is now!
In addition to the pick-your-own experience, the farm sells a wide variety of other veggies and goods at their kiosk, all of which you can see here.
As always, if you wind up visiting them, make sure to tell them that Orléans Connect sent you.

In 2024, in collaboration with the Petrie Island Turtle Project, Friends of Petrie Island and the Canadian Wildlife Federation, the Ottawa Riverkeeper’s science lab incubated and hatched over 350 baby turtles at Petrie Island. Learn more about the turtle releases here.

Many thanks to Antoinette P. for sending in a photo of her cats named Buddy and Zoomer. Like all good cats, they apparently enjoy going inside cloth bags.
