Capital Tease Burlesque brings the classiest of shows, combining bold, high-energy performances with the laid-back charm of the taproom.   • 🧡 July 5th - Indigenous Roots Ottawa is hosting Beading is Medicine from 930 AM - 1130 AM. Indigenous People and allies welcome. Free event.

  • 🌙 July 5th - A summer night market, right here in Orléans! Fetch Summer Night Market is bringing you a vibrant, dog-friendly night market with artisans, food trucks, live music, handmade goods, and more. 4 PM - 9 PM

  • 🐴 July 6th - Queenswood Stabes is hosting an open house Fundraiser Open House where you can tour the barn, meet the horses and ride a pony! Proceeds go to Shepherds of Good Hope. 10 AM - 2 PM.

  • 🧑‍🌾 July 6th - Don’t miss the 2nd Heart of Orléans Market! Amanda Watson, the powerhouse organized behind the highly successful Navan Market has brought her magic to Orléans! This market is held monthly (first Sunday of the month until November), from 930 AM - 2 PM.

  • 🎶 July 6th - Celebrate the cello’s beauty with music for 1, 2 and 4 celli from across the ages at the Cello Quartet Party at 7 PM. 🎟️ Tickets are $20 each for adults; children accompanied by adults are free.

  • 🎵 July 6th - SDBC Taproom Concerts presents: Crooked Creek. From Montreal, Crooked Creek effortlessly blends bluegrass and country - fusing the energetic and complex melodies of bluegrass with the heartfelt twang of classic country music. 7 PM - 10 PM. Tickets $15.

  • 🐢 July 6th - Annual Turtle Day - the best way for the Petrie community to learn about our local turtle species and the conservation efforts underway by the Friends of Petrie Island. Turtle Day is made for all ages, you can have in-depth conversations with experts, while kids can learn and have fun doing crafts! From 10 AM - 2 PM.

  • 🍄 July 9th - Shakespeare in the Park: The Comedy of Errors - presented by Company of Fools. This is a Foolish twist that blasts this classic farce straight into the Mushroom Kingdom! Bring a blanket, pack your picnic and join for an unforgettable evening of laughter, adventure and theatrical magic under the summer sky. Show starts at 7 PM. 🎟️ Pay-what-you-can - suggested $20.

  • 🪷 From Soil to Soul - a two-part Workshop on Food for Mental Wellness - Saturday, July 12th from 10 AM - 7 PM. Limited spots available - register today!

  • 🎤 Shenkman Arts Centre has tickets available for their 2025-26 season! A range of musical genres, comedy shows and poetry is on the schedule. Get your tickets early for the best seat options!

  • 📚 Did you know that Ottawa has a Silent Book Club? Multiple meet-ups are happening across the city, including in Orléans (Tuesday, July 22nd from 7 PM - 9 PM at Dominion City Brew Co, 5510 Canotek Rd). Register online.

☀️ Convent Glen Orléans Wood Community Association Announces a Summer of Community Connection and Fun Events! ☀️

Residents of all ages are invited to participate in a variety of weekly and one-off activities, from a community café to family bike rides and a much-anticipated community BBQ to end off the summer!

The excitement is off and running with weekly Pedal and Play family bike rides starting from Father Richard Ward Park and weekly Community Cafés on Sundays at Voyageur Park. 🚲☕

Residents can enjoy free Yoga in the Park every Wednesday evening in July and August at Décarie Park, and gardening enthusiasts can visit the Native Plant Sale at the Heart of Orléans Market on Sunday, July 6th, to help you start or expand your native garden. 🐝🌼

The entire season of events will culminate with the Annual Community BBQ on Sunday, September 7th at the Convent Glen Shopping Centre, promising a day of yummy food and family fun!

The CGOW Community Association is a volunteer-run organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the residents of Convent Glen and Orléans Wood. For more information about these events and other CGOW Community Association initiatives, visit https://cgow.ca.

When: Thursdays July 3, 10, 17, 24 from 5:15 - 6:15 PM

Where: Ottawa School of Theatre in Shenkman Arts Centre

About the classes: Expand, contract, reach, breathe! Experience the dynamic joy and expression of contemporary dance through this open-level adult class which uses principles of Limón technique such as breath, weight, musicality and suspension. We will begin slowly in the centre and progress to moving across the floor and a short combination. All levels are welcome. Orléans continues to grow. Every year, around 1,000 new people make this suburb their home either through moving from other parts of Ottawa, through immigration or through inter-provincial migration.
