There’s a lot going on this week, so make sure to check out all the events and community happenings below, especially the various 🇨🇦 Canada Day 🇨🇦 celebrations being planned.

  • 🏈 June 28th - Join the Orléans Minor Football Association for Bengals Community Day! Combine and drills, mini flag games, face painting, and even a fire truck and police cruiser. The Redblacks Cheerleaders will be there, and cheer fans can learn how to do a sideline routine and some cheers! See event page for specific timing. Yard games, soccer darts, food and music all day! 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM

  • 🎶 June 28th - Ice Cream Concerts in the Park featuring the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra Brass Ensemble and The Merry Dairy Ice Cream Truck! Bring your picnic blankets and enjoy the music! 6 PM - 8 PM

  • 👨‍🚒 June 28th and 29th - FireFit Championships is coming to Orléans! From 11 AM - 4 PM in the 📍Ray Friel parking lot.

  • 🍔 June 29th - The Black Walnut Bakery (which we reviewed here) is hosting the 1st Annual Cumberland Block Party from 11 AM - 3 PM. While you’re there, grab some of their ice cream now that their machine is back up and running. It is delicious!🍦

  • 🧘🏾‍♀️ Two options for weekly outdoor evening yoga:

    • 🪷 Yoga in the Park every Wednesday (in July and August) from 7 PM - 8 PM. No registration required.📍Décarie Park (7883 Décarie Dr)

    • 🧘 Outdoor Yoga Classes every Wednesday (started June 25th) from 630 PM - 730 PM. Register here.📍Alain Fortin (676 Lakeridge Dr)

🇨🇦 CANADA DAY EVENTS 🇨🇦

Tuesday, July 1st is Canada Day! 🚌 OC Transpo is celebrating with free service ALL DAY on the O-Train, buses and Para Transpo.

  • 🏖️ Canada Day Orléans will be hosted at📍Petrie Island! Event open from 10 AM - 11 PM. Local food concessions, exhibitors, beach volleyball, vendors, arts and crafts!

    • 🎉 Kids Zone from 11 AM - 5 PM - face painting, fish pond, science activities, Kid’s Olympics and more! 🚒 Ottawa Firefighters (until 4 PM)

    • 🎶 Live Bands, followed by an amazing Fireworks Show at 10 PM

  • 🍁 The Orléans Legion (800 Taylor Creek Dr) will be hosting a Canada Day Celebration, from 11 AM - 5 PM. This family-friendly event will be held outdoors, with live music, games, face painting and food! Rain or shine. Open to the public.

  • 🎆 Fireworks in Beacon Hill at Loyola Park (2166 Loyola Ave). Fireworks begin around 930 PM. Come early for music, fun, glowsticks and the best spots!

  • NOTE: the Canada Day fireworks normally hosted at Ouellette Park are CANCELLED this year.

  • 🐕 Fetch Local Markets at Night will be held at Ray Friel Recreation Complex on July 5th from 4 PM - 9 PM

  • 🐴 Queenswood Stabes is hosting an open house Fundraiser where you can visit the barn and meet the horses. Proceeds to the Shepherds of Good Hope. July 6th from 10 AM - 2 PM.

  • 🧑‍🌾 The monthly Heart of Orléans Market is back on July 6th from 930 AM - 2 PM.

The Shenkman Arts Centre offers over 300 courses, camps and workshops for all ages and skill levels across a variety of disciplines. And most of these are offered in English and French.
